Welcome to the most comprehensive multi-sampled Tabla in the history of sampling.

Our goal with this collection was to capture a extraordinarily comprehensive range of tabla articulations, designed to provide the most realistic, high-fidelity, playable and dynamic tabla multi-sample instrument ever attempted.

This library was recorded close and dry, in a medium wood and masonry studio. We covered every classical tabla articulation and a variety of variants and creative alternatives for maximum flexibility. We've also developed custom performance control and pitch stepping functionality, further expanding the musical potential of this library and allowing it to incorporate seamlessly with our companion library, Tonehammer Tablas Vol. 1: Loops. You'll also find a broad set of special effect and tuned melodic programs and mutations, as well as a mighty set of brand new morphable ambient drone instruments, crafted and sculpted from the heavily manipulated raw source recordings. This collection also features basic EXS support and a variety of other special features.

The tabla is a popular Indian percussion instrument used in the classical, popular and devotional music of the Indian subcontinent and in Hindustani classical music. The instrument consists of a pair of hand drums of contrasting sizes and timbres. To call tabla a mere percussion instrument would be a vast understatement of its musical depth, as one of the most revered of all classical Indian musical instruments. We worked with tabla master and jazz percussionist Sameer Gupta to capture a range of tabla rhythm, melody and soul. Sameer has been a student and practitioner in the art of percussion for nearly 25 years, traveling the world to study and perform in some of the world's most prestigious institutions and venues.

Please note that the Tabla Vol. 2 "Multi" contains multi-samples of Tabla, however we also recorded a comprehensive set of Tabla Loops. We offer both packages are at cost-effective solution of $139. Please use the following cart item – if you want to purchase both libraries and thereby get additional discount.

Tonehammer spend over six months developing this library with one of the best heavy session guitar players in the Scandinavia, Danne Forsblom. Danne used his custom 6, 7 and 8 string guitars in the sessions and played them through a variety of different amps and custom FX pedals. All riffs were recorded between X4 to X16 times (Yes, friggin 16 times!) with ultra-precision resulting in an unprecedently big sound. The core stacking technique is controlled by adjustment of modwheel on the keyboard controller.

The core library contains nearly 2000 riffs/phrases/licks, which are divided into 7 core tempos: 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130 and 140 BPM. All the loops/riffs were meticulously edited, so they stay in sync and adapt to host tempo, so you can literally use the loops in any tempo you desire. The style of the library is a mixture of nu metal with a a touch of hard rock/funk on top. We also wanted to ensure longevity and variety in the content, so it both contains more traditional 4/4 type of rhythm riffs, while also having several hundred melodic and rhythmically memorable type of phrases, so the users can literally create new songs out of the content in a matter of minutes.

Sameer has been a student and practitioner in the art of percussion for nearly 25 years, traveling the world to study and perform in some of the world's most prestigious institutions and venues.

This library contains over 1300 unique phrases, spanning over 2 hours of live tabla phrases, exploring traditional and contemporary poly-rhythms and grooves. We recorded close and dry, in wide-stereo. and covered a wide range of tempos. Instruments are tuned to Middle C, with key-switch pitch control to allow shifting by up to +/- 7 semitones. The library includes Kontakt & EXS24 patches, with open wav directories for direct sample use in any software that supports 24 bit .wav format.

Please note that this library does not auto-sync to host tempo and all BPM values are approximate, due to natural poly-rhythm and groove drift. These carefully tuned multi-timbral instruments do not respond well to beat-slicing or time-stretching. Tabla is traditionally the force that drives the pulse in classical Indian music and we felt that it was vital to preserve natural tonal character, groove and flow. While all samples loop seamlessly, we find that they are best used like our solo vocal libraries. Each of Sameer's phrases naturally evolves into the next, allowing the sequence of tones and grooves to rise and fall in intensity, detail and musicality.

Please note that the Tabla Vol. 1 "Loops" contains loops of Tabla, however we also recorded a comprehensive set of Tabla Multi-samples. We offer both packages are at cost-effective solution of $139. Forgotten Voices: Terrie by T. B. Folmann

Welcome to our Native African, Soul and RnB inspired Forgotten Voices: "Terrie"

Internationally renowned, Terrie Odabi, is a classically trained singer who studied under Gwen Brown, Bill Bell and the late John Patton. While traveling she started gaining interest in other cultures and languages from Latin to Spanish, from a variety of African to Middle Eastern dialects. Her incredible depth and understanding of music cultures were the premise of the library, which covers several African dialects to Gospel, Soul, RnB and more experimental types of singing.

The library contains over 5.000 phrases and sounds derived from over 20 hours of session material. The phrases are divided into a nomenclature that allows the composer to easy access the type of phrase he is looking for. An example of a phrase could be: "african_mama_koko_mp". The first part (african) refers to the style, the second part (mama_koko) refers to the main words articulated in patch and the third pard (mp/mezzo-piano) refers to the dynamic level of the phrase. The majority of phrases were sung multiple times, which allows the composer to stack for more phatness/fullness, but also allows tiny variations making the score alive. In addition Terrie also made 10-30 variations of many of the phrases, so the composer can truly combine the phrases to create his own songs.

The library follows programming and editing techniques introduced in our latest Forgotten Voices libraries. The programming allows user to sculpt- and morph phrases by adjusting the mod-wheel and pitch bender. The mod-wheel controls the sample starting point, so users can trigger off-set anywhere they want in the phrases. The pitch bender allows you to time-stretch/compress the phrase. Special key-switching also allows you to adjust to root pitch of all phrases in a patch by up to +/- 3 semitones. The combination between sample off-set control, root pitch control and time-stretch/compression allows users to seamlessly morph different phrases together, which brings endless possibilities for creating new phrases.

Tonehammer Forgotten Voices: “Terrie”:

  • $99

    • +5.500 phrase samples
