Welcome to Forgotten Voices: "Francesca". The singer, Francesca Genco, is a highly gifted female alto singer covering a variety of vocal textures from soft to powerful, crying and evocative type of vocals. Francesca has been singing and chanting for over 20 years and is one of the most respected shamanistic sound healers in the world. She has a wide repertoire of singing styles ranging from classical western to balkan and middle-eastern song traditions.

The vocal library is made from over a thousand different vocal phrases covering over 10 hours of material. The phrases were designed for maximum user flexibility through logical categories (ex. Slow Chanting, Playful Chanting, Flute Singing, Lullaby, Powerful/Forte, Slow/Dark etc) and by sophisticated editing and programming. The programming allows user to sculpt- and morph phrases by adjusting the mod-wheel and pitch bender. The mod-wheel controls the sample starting point, so users can trigger off-set anywhere they want in the phrases. The pitch bender allows you to time-stretch/compress the phrase. All patches feature key-switch controlled pitch that allows you to change the root key of the singer's voice up or down by +/- 3 semi-tones.

This combination between sample off-set control, root pitch-shifting and time-stretch/compression allows users to seamlessly morph different phrases together, which brings endless possibilities for creating new phrases. This library recently earned a perfect 5/5 from Sound On Sound Magazine. In addition Francesca contains a bonus set of vocal ambiences made by Steven Tavaglione (Instrumentalist and Sound Designer; Wall-E, American Beauty, CSI, Supernatural and 100s other movies/shows/games).

I am using the ethereal voice of Francesca in this track called "Larger Than Life" – it really lifts any composition to a new level!

Bravissimo guys! This is an excellent voice library, Francesca must be an angel. The mod wheel/pitch control is really sophisticated, but I think they are working great once I got used to it. Thanks for your wonderful work.

This is a stunning and unique library. Probably the deepest vocal library I think I’ve come across, and much more comprehensive than when you first start fiddling with it, as I have found out. Getting used to the mod wheel/pitch bend functions to control the phrasing has been a challenge, as has “playing” the voices across the keyboard. I’m still not sure how to (or even if I should?!) control the pitch per sample.

Very unique, and beautiful. And from what I understand, future vocal libraries will be on the way?

So impressed by tonehammer work that I bought the full bundle. It is really totally great and never done. It would be great to maybe have a future Francesca library with sustained notes over the keyboard… My dream… A playable voice like in Pat metheny group… ;-) Anyway, it is one of the first vocal sample library which I really love. Keep on going like this and you’ll have at least one more customer!

Somehow, I don’t see me passing this one by….there have been hints of this package in various TH demoes over the past few months, and the quality of the singing has been pretty impressive. The demoes above show us what it’s all about in better detail.

Luckily I get paid tomorrow, LOL.

And a waterphone to come soon? [Demo 4] Neat!

arrrgggg! i will be dead ! you are too much ! but why why why the “vocal ambience” only for Kontakt 3; (kontak 2.2.4 is not a good soft ?) oliv !

admin: Steven used some of the unique capabilities in Kontakt 3, which is the reason that the vocal ambiences are in this format. However the core library (which is 99%) is in Kontakt 2.2.4 and you can import the .wavs from the Kontakt 3 ambiences to 2.2.4 and fiddle around. But the entire library (except for ambiences) is in Kontakt 2.2.4.
